'Acupuncture combined with an antidepressant for patients with depression in hospital’: a pragmatic randomised controlled trial' published in Acupuncture in Medicine 2014. This trial concluded that: “Acupuncture combined with an SSRI antidepressant showed statistically significant benefits for patients with depression in hospital over the 6-week period compared with SSRIs alone. This reduction in symptoms started in the first week and continued throughout the 6 weeks of treatment.”
http://aim.bmj.com/content/32/4/308.abstract His PhD research has also included that:
*Acupuncture could relieve depression and stress symptoms, to more quickly start the effects and reduce the side-effects and dose of anti-depressants.

*Animal experiments show acupuncture could increase the level of serotonin (5-HT)
and its receptors (5-HTRs) in the frontal cortex and hippocampus of depressed model rats.

Our massage principles use Tuina, which is a kind of energy bodywork upon which many modern complementary therapies such as Shiatsu, Acupressure, Deep Tissue Massage, Sports Massage, and Lymphatic Draining are based. Chiropractic and Physiotherapy manipulation are also founded upon Tuina techniques.

Reflexology is a gentle therapy in which the therapist uses thumbs and fingers to apply pressure to the client's feet and/or hands as those parts mirror the body. All organs, systems and glands can be mapped onto areas of the feet called reflex points. A reflexologist knows how to stimulate the reflex points to bring about a response in the corresponding part of the body.
